There are three reasons why we have planned this afternoon of prayer and reflection.

First, many of our regular retreatants have said that they wished there were an opportunity for some kind of spiritual tune-up between their annual retreats. Twelve months is such a long time to go without some kind of revitalization. This special afternoon is for all those who have experienced a retreat to renew their retreat experience.

Second, our retreatants have also wished there were some way to introduce a friend or family member to Manresa and provide a taste of the retreat experience of quiet prayer, without asking them to make a whole weekend right off the bat. A sort of "Come and See" experience.

Third, it is a Workshop in Prayer where people may learn new ways to pray, like LEctio Divina (Praying with Scripture) and the Examen of Consciousness to raise our awareness of God in our lives.

This afternoon offers an opportunity for all: renewal of a past retreat, and a foretaste of a future retreat, and lesson in praying. The day will usually include a talk or discussion, time for private prayer/devotion, the celebration of Reconciliation and Eucharist and a dinner to round out the evening.

The program starts at 2:00 PM on a Sunday and lasts until 7 PM. You can arrive as early as 1:30 PM. The cost for the afternoon is $30, payable upon arrival. There is no charge for members of the Lay Retreatants League. Make plans to join us on any of the dates shown below.
