The Jesus of History and the Christ of Faith

The second mini-course of the Seminar in Ignatian Spirituality will be held on Wednesday evenings from November 18, 2015 through March 16, 2016 from 7:00-9:30 PM. This mini-course is a consideration of the Jesus of History and the Christ of Faith. Topics include the use of Scripture in study and prayer and the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.

Outcomes: At the conclusion of this mini-course, participants…

  1. Will be able to articulate a general critical understanding of the Bible
  2. Will be able to articulate the story of Jesus' ministry, death and resurrection
  3. Will be able to describe his/her life in terms of Jesus' life
  4. Will be able to articulate the social elements of the gospel preached by Jesus
  5. Will be able to articulate the importance of discipleship in Jesus' ministry
  6. Will experience the transformative power of Jesus' vision and values
  7. Will develop an affection for the person of Jesus
